ITV RECOMMISSIONS NEW SERIES OF DCI BANKS
FOLLOWING RATINGS SUCCESS AND HUGE AUDIENCE APPRECIATION – ITV today confirmed it has ordered more episodes of DCI Banks featuring Stephen Tompkinson from Left Bank Pictures following the recent ratings success of the first Peter Robinson novel to be adapted for television.
DCI Banks: Aftermath debuted on 27 September with the second part screening on 4 October. The consolidated figures for the first episode achieved 6.7m / 25% share with the second instalment gaining in viewers and reaching 6.9m / 24% share according to BARB/TNS.
Six episodes – 3 stories each told over two episodes – will begin in production during spring 2011 in West Yorkshire. Each of the new episodes will be 60 minute duration.
