The team behind Wallander triumph in 2010's Hot 100 List
Executive Producer Andy Harries, Director Philip Martin, Director of Photography Anthony Dod-Mantle and Composer Martin Phipps all feature in the top 10 in Broadcast Magazine’s Hot 100 list for 2010.
Andy Harries, founder of Left Bank Pictures, profiles at #2 for his Executive Producer role on multi Bafta-award-winning drama series Wallander, which returned to BBC1 as three feature length episodes this month. He is currently putting the finishing touches on ITV comedy drama Married Single Other and action series Strike Back (Sky1), which are both due to be aired in 2010.
Philip Martin features in the Hot 100 Director’s list for his direction of the first series of Wallander in 2009, as well as Einstein and Eddington and Prime Suspect, Philip’s first collaboration with Andy Harries.
Hitting the #1 spot for Craft, Anthony Dod-Mantle devised the look for Wallander, the first UK TV drama shot with digital camera RED, landing a Bafta for photography and lighting as a result. Mantle is regarded as one of the world’s leading cinematographers. “He not only has an incredible eye for images, but pushes the frontier of filmmaking technology”, declares Andy Harries. “Thrilling to work with”.
Composer Martin Phipps followed closely in the same list, bagging #2 for Craft. His Wallander theme (with Emily Barker) scooped both a 2009 Bafta and an RTS Award for original title music.
A new series of Wallander is currently airing on BBC1 (3rd 10th, 17th January, 9pm).
