Kenneth Branagh was named best actor by the BAFTA TV awards, taking the coveted prize for his role in the Left Bank Production “Wallander.”

Branagh won Britain’s top TV honor Sunday over John Hurt, Brendan Gleeson and David Oyelowo.

Julie Walters, twice nominated in the actress category, won for the political biopic “Mo.” She was also nominated for the drama “A Short Stay in Switzerland.” Walters beat Helena Bonham Carter and Sophie Okonedo.
