Kenneth Branagh won a nod for best actor in a mini-series or film for his title role as Inspector Kurt Wallander and Philip Martin (who won Best Director in 2007 for Prime Suspect: The Final Act) has picked up a nomination in the Best Director category for Sidetracked.

Andy Harries, Chief Executive of Left Bank Pictures, said: “There’s no mystery to Ken’s Emmy nomination for Wallander. He is simply stunning as the battered crime busting Swedish detective it is a brilliant result for a brand new show. Philip has proved that he’s a world class director with his win for Prime Suspect and this confirms his outstanding talent”.
