LEFT BANK PICTURES, SCREEN SCOTLAND, SONY PICTURES TELEVISION AND NETFLIX LAUNCH MAJOR NEW TRAINING PROGRAMME
20 SCOTTISH TV PRODUCTION TALENT PLACEMENTS AVAILABLE ON THE HIT NETFLIX SERIES DEPT. Q
Left Bank Pictures, Screen Scotland, Sony Pictures Television and Netflix have joined forces to launch a major new training initiative aimed at developing the next generation of Scottish film and television talent, who will receive paid trainee roles on the forthcoming second season of the hit Netflix series Dept. Q.
Following the global success of Dept. Q’s first season, which topped Netflix’s worldwide viewing charts after its 2025 launch, the highly anticipated second season will begin filming in Scotland later this year. Alongside the creative team at Left Bank Pictures, Screen Scotland, Sony Pictures ad Netflix are launching the Dept. Q Training Programme, designed to create meaningful, paid entry‑level opportunities across a wide range of on‑set and production roles.
Supported by Screen Scotland, the programme will recruit up to 20 trainees from across Scotland to work directly on Dept. Q Season Two, gaining hands‑on experience within a range of disciplines in a high‑end television production environment.

Traineeships will be offered across a wide range of departments, including Art, Camera, Costume, Construction, Locations, Make‑up, Production, Props, Sound, Special Effects, VFX & Post‑Production and more. Placements will last approximately five to six months, depending on role, and trainees will be paid £750 per week, inclusive of holiday pay.
