Charlotte Moore
Charlotte joined Left Bank Pictures in 2025 from her role as the Chief Content Officer at the BBC, where she led all TV and radio creative output and services.
She began her career as a freelance documentary producer/director before joining IWC Media in 2002. As IWC’s Director of Contemporary Factual, she was responsible for titles such as the award-winning BBC Two series Stephen Fry: The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive.
In 2006 Charlotte joined the BBC as Commissioning Editor for Documentaries and in 2009 became Head of Documentaries, responsible for commissioning a wide range of titles from Welcome to Lagos and Evicted to Protecting Our Children and The Great British Bake Off.
In 2013 she was appointed Controller of BBC One. Under her leadership, BBC One became the UK’s most watched channel with hit shows in every genre from Happy Valley and Planet Earth II to Car Share, Doctor Foster, Taboo and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.
In 2016 she took on the role of Director of BBC Content, leading the creative vision and editorial strategy for all scripted and unscripted genres, sport and film across all the BBC’s TV channels and iPlayer and commissioning a broad range of shows from Bodyguard and Three Girls to Gavin and Stacey’s Christmas Special, Uprising, Small Axe, This is Going to Hurt, I May Destroy You, Green Planet, Traitors, Responder, Blue Lights and Ghosts.
In 2020, she was promoted to Chief Content Officer and added Radio and Children’s & Education to the role. During her tenure, she delivered a major restructure of the BBC TV division to fuel the growth of iPlayer and created a portfolio approach to Music and Speech Radio, maintaining live listening on the BBC’s stations whilst growing BBC Sounds.
In 2022, Charlotte was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the National Film and Television School (NFTS) for her contribution to the UK’s creative sector and her commitment to diversity and talent development. In 2023, she received the RTS Judges Award for her leadership during a transformative period at the BBC. And in 2026 she received an OBE for services to public service broadcasting.
