Dear England

Left Bank Pictures embedded sustainability at every stage of the production, achieving a 3-star albert BAFTA accreditation and the Green Screen Silver award through measurable, practical action from running generators and unit moves on renewable fuel, to powering studios and stadium shoots with 100% renewable energy.

Dear England had an ambitious shooting schedule constantly moving locations and major stadiums, the production embedded sustainability into every department—from running generators and unit moves on HVO fuel, to powering studios and stadium shoots with 100% renewable energy. A hybrid generator at unit base dramatically reduced fuel use, while public transport, train runs, and leadership-led behaviour change helped cut travel emissions. The production operated a zero-waste-to-landfill approach, eliminated single-use plastic bottles, prioritised LED lighting (69.4%), and maximised rentals, reuse, and donations across sets, costumes, and props. Sustainability was also reflected on screen, with subtle editorial choices reinforcing climate awareness. Through rigorous carbon tracking via ALBERT and close collaboration with ALBERT-certified suppliers, Dear England demonstrated that high-pressure, premium drama can deliver both creatively and environmentally.
