Michael and Diana are more in love than ever when they arrive in their Spanish Happy Town but they are soon dragged back into the world of crime to answer questions to the Colombians around Ricardo’s death. There’s a new Colombian to deal with now - Felipe, Ricardo’s volatile younger brother, played by Alvaro Morte. Diana and Cheryl find themselves being held hostage in Spain, while Michael is forced to return to Liverpool to find out who killed Ricardo.
In Liverpool, an unhappy Jamie, Rachel and Bonehead stage a coup against Duffy and Banksey, forcibly seizing control of a new shipment of cocaine and sending Banksey into hiding. And there’s a new threat in town - Ozzie Thompson, played by Shaun Evans, is a newly released old-school gangster from Ronnie’s past. We first find him at Ronnie’s graveside where he approaches Elaine, demanding compensation or revenge, whichever comes first.
Michael keeps a low profile as his investigation into Ricardo’s murder leads him to Banksey. Unable to give up his best friend, he devises a plan that hinges on Diana’s cooperation, though her loyalties are tested more than ever before, leaving Michael with the ultimate choice.
With Banksey nowhere to be seen, his son Freddie forms an unlikely friendship with Ozzie. Jamie and Rachel look to expand the business with a new supplier, but more enemies are lurking in the shadows. Michael may have no choice but to once again join forces with the Phelans, but that goes against everything he has promised to Diana. If Michael can’t escape his past, then will he be able to keep Diana?
